The home of Anamour
Bilbar
Lodge, owned and operated by Gary and Wendy Freeman, is
situated 22 kilometres west of Palmerston North in the North
Island of New Zealand. The name Bilbar originated from the
name of one of Gary's showjumpers which he rode in national
competitions in the days of his showjumping career.
The 150 acre property occupies fertile river flats and
is rotationally cropped to ensure clean, green pastures.
It is well-fenced and centrally raced for easy handling
of the horses.
Gary and Wendy have more than forty years of experience
in the horse industry. Their very competent equine vet is
Tim Pearce from South Rangitikei Veterinary Services, who
visits regularly during the breeding season.
Bilbar Lodge also takes in mares for breeding to outside
stallions and provides facilities and services for foaling.
Visitors are welcome to inspect Anamour and his progeny
and transport to the stud from the nearby Palmerston North
airport can be arranged.
Anamour's breeding season
begins late September, finishing at the end of February.
